Happy New Year!

It’s been a great first week into the spring semester here at ACA. Students and teachers have jumped back into our routine as though there had been no Christmas break, and for that I am sincerely thankful. This semester we will be learning a passage of scripture from Philippians 1, verses 3 through 11. It begins, “I thank my God in all my remembrance of you.” My hope for us this semester is that we can truly inculcate a sense of thankfulness for all the elements of life God has given us, the good, and that which does not seem so good (at least in the present).
Why is the United States flag at ACA always flying? Even during times of national mourning? Even in rain?
We have a problem with our pulley at the top of our flag pole. In an effort to raise the flag with enthusiasm during the fall, we locked the pulley with the flag-holding attachment on the rope. Now, our flag is “stuck” at the top of the pole. We had hoped that it would dislodge itself through the blowing of the wind over the Christmas break, but it obviously has not. If any of you has access to a lift that would reach the top of our flag pole, we would appreciate your help in remedying this situation. (The pole is not sturdy enough to support someone on a ladder.)
Mark Your Calendar!
We do have some important dates coming up soon. The first is the annual State of the School meeting, scheduled Thursday, January 31, 6:00 p.m. At least one parent is required to be at the meeting to hear from the Board of Governors as to current and future planning for the school. The other dates are for our Open House times. They are February 19, 8:00-11:00 a.m., February 19, 5:00-7:00 p.m. and February 27, 8:00-11:00 p.m. Invitations with these dates and times will be available soon for you to share with friends and family members who may want to attend. Please post these invitations at any sites which will allow you to (dance studios, athletic event sites, church, restaurants, etc.) If you invite someone, please come with them and act as their host. Students, parents, and teachers will be available at every Open House to share with guests their own experiences at ACA. The future of our school depends greatly on the enrollment of new students and families. Help us be successful by getting the word out about our school. YOU are our greatest marketers!
